Commercial Energy Usage
According to the Energy Information Administration, in commmercial structures, lighting fixtures consume the most energy--as much as three times air conditioning. Furthermore, EIA research indicates that at least 70% commercial buildings are not using energy efficient lighting, and still relying on 'legacy' fluorescent light fixtures. Energy efficient lighting fixtures such as LEDs provide twice the lumens per watt of electricity and provide a brighter, more satisfying workspace than outdated metal halide fixtures.
